Terms of service

1. The service

Study App converts documents you provide into audio and AI-generated study material. The service requires an internet connection for synthesis and AI features; downloaded audio can be played offline.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) and sign in with a Google account you control. You are responsible for activity on your account. You may delete your account at any time from the app or via our account deletion page.

3. Subscriptions and payment

• Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription: $29 per month or $139 per year (local prices may vary). Prices are shown in the store before you confirm.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation and at the start of each renewal period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
• Premium includes 150,000 words of synthesis per calendar month. Words are counted when audio is generated (including cached audio) and when AI tools are used; offline downloads count once. Unused words do not roll over. We may adjust the allowance with notice.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to the documents you import. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit that content solely to provide the service to you, including sending relevant portions to our text-to-speech and AI providers. You are responsible for having the right to use any content you import.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service to infringe copyright or other rights, or to distribute generated audio commercially without permission from the rights holder;
• attempt to bypass usage limits, security rules or subscription checks;
• reverse-engineer the app or use automated tools to access the service;
• upload malicious, illegal or abusive content.

6. AI-generated output

Summaries, quiz answers, podcast scripts, figure descriptions and assistant replies are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. They are study aids, not professional advice. Always verify important information against the original source.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect paid features.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. On termination your right to use the app ends; sections 4, 6, 9 and 10 survive.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and consumers keep their statutory rights.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, unless local law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.
